The book sheds light on many forgotten faiths and conflicts. I wonder what drew Ehrman to these particular stories and how he chose which to include.

The different viewpoints on scripture and doctrine really challenged my understanding of early Christianity. I’m curious if others found it hard to keep track of who believed what.

The framing of conflicts as battles adds drama but also clarity. I wonder if this was his original approach or if it evolved during research and writing.
