The way the characters' feelings unfolded felt very authentic, but I was also surprised by some of their reactions. Did others find themselves relating deeply to their struggles?

The story explores how forgiving ourselves and others shapes who we become. I wonder if this was a personal passion of Katie Cotugno or something she wanted to explore through this narrative.
