The urban decay and crime themes are so vividly depicted — I wonder if the setting was inspired by real places or purely fictional.

The detailed, shadowy illustrations really set the tone, but I struggled at times to follow the action. Was that intentional or just my reading experience?

The characters’ struggles with self-perception felt very real, and I’m curious whether this was a deliberate focus by the author to comment on urban life.
